Brochure Design: Oklahoma State University Department of Art
The purpose of this project was to design a brochure that could be sent out to potential students interested in the Art Department at Oklahoma State University. The inside of the brochure needed to contain the proper information as set by the Art Department. The outside cover needed to be mailable, and within mailing standards. When unfolded the outside had to be a poster, while containing the information on the other side.
My concept was to use the fundamentals of art to create a brochure that was also enticing to prospective students. The inside features photos that represent different aspects and studies within the art department, as well as a simple layout, that is easily followed by the viewer. The outside cover has a large scale paintbrush that is completely made of type. Within the type are words that describe things that a student might study, acquire, and use such as basic art terms, progressive terms and more directed art terms that relate to the OSU Department of Art. The paint brush also has words that drip down into the bottom portion of the envelope where the heading is seen, leading the eye down the page.
